One of my favorite hobbies is creating jewelry. Last week I found some cute pendant bases at Joann’s called Signed, Sealed, and Remembered that I wanted to try and use. There were different sized pendants to choose from, along with a lot of other fun jewelry pieces.
I loved the weight on these, and they came with a clear, puffy sticker to seal it. The best part was that all of the pendants were 40% off! Love that!
To make my pendants I searched through my scrapbook papers and fabric that had small floral and heart designs. I thought my girls and I might enjoy wearing them for Valentine’s Day or this spring.
Once I found a few designs that fit, I placed each sticker onto the paper or fabric I had chosen. Then I simply cut around the sticker as closely as possible. To the back of my paper, I applied a very thin layer of tacky glue and gently pressed it into place. I wiped up any of the extra glue.
I loved this sweet purple flower.
The flower pendant turned out so cute. I was out of my favorite black cording, so I substituted a simple black ribbon. You could easily put it onto a chain or ribbon of your choice once you add a jump ring.
To finish the necklace, I made my own beaded wire-wrapped hook and clasp. I love making them because I can match the bead to my pendant.
I thought this little flower pendant would look cute as a hang for my daughter’s backpack. I added a heavier clasp and three crystal beads on headpins.
I thought it would be fun to make a Valentine pendant, too, and found this fun heart in some Valentine scrapbook paper.
I think it turned out really cute. I’m a little undecided if we will actually wear it, but I still think it’s cute. It may end up being reformed into a hang tag for a backpack or something else around the house!
These pendants were a really quick and fun project! They could be used for so many things – to wear or around the house – and for so many different occasions. Wouldn’t they be nice to hang around a votive candle, tied with some ribbon, too?
Have you used them before? I’d love to hear what you made yours into!
I’m loving all your wonderful comments. Feel free to leave a reply below and I’ll do my best to respond.

Hi Laurie,
These are lovely! I haven’t used them before. I’m not much of a jewelry person as little hands are always breaking my necklaces, but I like your idea of hanging them around a candle. I may need to try this for my upcoming Valentine tablescape.
Thanks!

Thank you, Tuula! They are super easy and will make you feel successful really quickly! Just be sure to have jump rings, and the pliers needed to attach them. They don’t provide the jump rings in the packages unfortunately. Also, a good chain with a clasp is the easiest way to finish it quickly. Thanks so much for your kind words!
Very cute! I didn’t know it was so easy to make those.
